Anti-Money Laundering Policy of Zenmart
At Zenmart, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency in all our operations. As a commodity trading platform, we take our responsibilities seriously in preventing money laundering and complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including Uganda’s Anti-Money Laundering Act and other international standards.
1. Compliance with AML Laws
Zenmart fully complies with all anti-money laundering (AML) laws and regulations. We have implemented policies and procedures designed to detect, prevent, and report any suspicious activities or transactions that could be related to money laundering or terrorist financing.
2. Know Your Customer (KYC)
To comply with AML regulations, Zenmart requires all users—both buyers and sellers—to complete a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process. This includes:
Verifying personal or business identification documents (e.g., national ID, passport, business registration).
Collecting and verifying contact information.
Assessing the risk profile of customers based on their trading behavior and transaction volumes.
Zenmart reserves the right to request additional documentation or information to ensure compliance with AML regulations.
3. Transaction Monitoring
Zenmart actively monitors all transactions on the platform to detect any unusual or suspicious activities. This includes:
Monitoring for unusually large or irregular transactions.
Detecting patterns that may indicate illegal activities, such as structuring transactions to avoid reporting requirements.
Investigating discrepancies between user profiles and transaction behavior.
Any transactions that raise red flags will be reported to the relevant authorities by Uganda’s AML laws.
4. Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR)
Zenmart must report any suspicious activities or transactions involving money laundering, terrorist financing, or other illegal activities. If such activity is detected, we will:
Freeze the involved accounts and transactions.
Report the suspicious activity to Uganda's Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA) or other relevant authorities.
Cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies in their investigations.
5. Account Freezing and Termination
Zenmart reserves the right to freeze or terminate any account suspected of engaging in money laundering or other illegal activities. If an account is found to violate our AML policies, it will be closed, and any funds or assets involved may be seized or frozen as required by law.
6. User Responsibilities
Using Zenmart, you agree to comply with all applicable anti-money laundering laws and regulations.
You must not engage in any activity linked to money laundering, terrorist financing, or other illegal financial conduct.
Users are responsible for ensuring that the funds used in transactions on Zenmart are from legitimate sources.
